In a new milestone for Emirati children’s literature, Ajyaal Publishing House proudly announced the launch of the German editions of its acclaimed titles Elephant on My Finger and A Tale of Two Colors at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025.

The books were published by Weltentdecker Verlag, in collaboration with the German Vitiligo Association, marking a significant step in bringing authentic Emirati stories to global readers.

This partnership reflects Ajyaal’s vision of building cultural bridges through stories that celebrate humanity, empathy, and diversity — values that resonate far beyond borders.

“I believe literature has the power to build human bridges that transcend language and geography,” said Dr. Abdulla Alsharhan, founder of Ajyaal Publishing House and Vice Chairman of the Emirates Publishers Association.“Seeing Elephant on My Finger and A Tale of Two Colors translated into German and presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair is a proud moment for me personally and for every Emirati storyteller striving to share their voice with the world.”

Both books, written by Dr. Alsharhan, have received prestigious regional and international recognition. Elephant on My Finger and A Tale of Two Colors are celebrated for their emotional depth, distinctive art, and their ability to communicate universal human values through simple, poetic storytelling.

The two titles offer powerful messages about acceptance, resilience, and the beauty of difference — themes that resonate across cultures. Through this translation, German readers will now have the opportunity to experience Emirati creativity and storytelling from a fresh and deeply human perspective.

With this launch, Ajyaal continues its journey to make Emirati voices part of the global literary dialogue — a mission that aligns with the broader efforts of the Emirates Publishers Association to empower local publishers and authors to reach new audiences worldwide.

This achievement not only celebrates a successful cultural exchange but also represents a growing recognition of the UAE’s literary creativity and its universal appeal.

“Our stories may come from the heart of the Emirates,” added Dr. Alsharhan, “but their messages belong to the whole world.”

Both titles are now available on major online platforms including Amazon Germany, as well as through key German retailers such as Hugendubel and Bücher.de, opening new doors for Emirati literature to find its place on European bookshelves.
