LettersWay: A Small Attempt to Find Our Way Back to One Another

What separates us has gradually become greater than what brings us together.

We have grown content with our phones, our books, and our small screens. Each of us sits inside a private world, strangely united in our isolation, our silence, and the distance that continues to grow between us, even when we are sitting in the same room.

We have come to miss the noise of family, the laughter of friends, long gatherings, and late nights that move from one question to a story, from a simple competition to a memory that stays with us.

This is where LettersWay began.

It is a small attempt along that road. An attempt to bring us back to playing together—to gathering around a question, debating an answer, laughing at a loss, celebrating a win, and recovering something from the moments our homes and gatherings once created before each of us became absorbed in a separate screen.

The game is played on a hexagonal board made up of letters. A player selects a tile and is asked a question whose answer begins with the letter shown. A correct answer claims the tile and extends the player’s path across the board. The first player to connect their side to the opposite side wins.

But the game is about more than winning.

Every letter opens the door to a question. Every question can begin a conversation. Every answer may bring back a story, a memory, or a fact we did not know a few moments earlier. This is the idea at the heart of LettersWay: turning knowledge into another reason to gather.

LettersWay was designed for families and friends and can be played by two to six players or teams. Participants join from their phones using a room code or QR code, while the shared board appears on a television, computer, or larger display. There is no application to download and no account to create.

Since Ajyaal was founded, we have continued to explore ways of bringing knowledge closer, making reading more present, and turning cultural experiences into part of everyday life. With LettersWay, we are taking a new path—one that brings language, play, technology, and human connection into a single experience.

This is only the beginning.

We have set out, but we do not yet know where this road will take us. It may become a game for families, a tool for classrooms, a competition among friends, or a new space for discovering language, culture, and knowledge.

What we do know is that we wanted to begin.

To place the first letter on the board, and then follow the path.

Welcome to LettersWay — a path that begins with a letter and may lead us back to one another.
